Oracle
Aeronautics Pty Ltd has 15 developed
CRM training Modules that have been
designed to involve all personnel within
your organisation. These modules have
been specifically designed in order
to enhance team work, improved inter-cockpit
communications and give individuals
the tools required to deal with day
to day situations within your changing
aviation environment. The principles
of human factors training should be
applied to every member of a working
team, irrespective of their task or
position within a company.
The
following Modules are available in our
'Crew Resource Management' Training
Course.
AVIATION
SAFETY MANAGEMENT
Everyone
in your organisation is responsible
for safety management. We will cover
the Safety Management System. Including
Policies and objectives, Risk Management,
Safety Culture, Incident reporting and
auditing.
HUMAN
PERFORMANCE
What
are the limits to human performance?
Why can't we do it all by ourselves?
We will discuss limitations and exercises
on how to reduce these during high workload
periods.
COMMUNICATION
Good
communication is critical for a safe
outcome to flying operations. The safety
record is full of tragedies resulting
from the Captain failing to listen,
or crewmembers failing to speak up,
even when their lives were at stake.
In this session, we will discuss techniques
that improve these skills.
JUDGMENT
AND DECISION MAKING
Many
accidents have occurred because the
crew has failed to make the correct
decision with all of the information
available. We discuss some strategies,
which will help to alleviate this problem.
TEAMWORK
& LEADERSHIP
Leadership
is one of those elusive qualities that
everyone recognises, but few can define.
It can be, and should be, displayed
by every crewmember. We discuss how
a task can be achieved more effectively
and efficiently through synergy.
ASSERTIVENESS
What
is assertiveness? Why is it a trait
that we should display in the cockpit?
How can it help us do our job more effectively
or safely? We discuss the importance
of adopting an assertive, supportive
role in the cockpit.
SITUATIONAL
AWARENESS
Always
being aware of 'What is going on' is
one sign of an efficient crew. This
is the concept of Situational Awareness.
We will discuss an accident and establish
how, as a crew, we can increase our
level of SA.
MISSION
PLANNING AND PREBRIEFING
How
do we ensure we will successfully complete
the mission, whilst applying lessons
learned from previous missions? We discuss
the advantages of analysing the mission
and cover skills essential to conducting
thorough pre flight briefings.
POST
FLIGHT ANALYSIS AND DEBRIEFING
Is
the flight finished once we have shut
the aircraft down? What could we have
done better or safer? How can we apply
the lessons to the next flight? Just
a few of the questions to be answered
when we conduct post flight debriefing.
ERROR
AND THREAT MANAGEMENT
LOSA
data demonstrate that 98% of all flights
face one or more threats, with an average
of 4 per flight. Errors are also observed
on 82% of all flights with an average
of 2.8 per flight. By understanding
what crews do successfully as well as
where things go wrong, training and
safety initiatives can be made more
effective.
UNDERSTANDING
CULTURE
Flying
is a complex and sometime difficult
environment to operate in. Crewing with
different cultures has its set of challenges.
We look at the difficulties associated
with being a part of a multi culture
crew and address the issues associated
with it.
INTRODUCTION
TO RISK MANAGEMENT
The
Risk Management process is actually
not new in its conception; people have
been using Risk Management since well
before the Wright brothers took to the
air. Informally, everybody uses a variation
of the process in day-to-day life. We
look briefly at the process and how
it impacts an organisation.
AVIATION
DECISION MAKING
This
module has been designed with the single
pilot / multi crew environment in mind.
We look at workload allocation, crew
stations and the environment that provides
the most critical of stress.
CONFLICT
RESOLUTION
From
time to time we find it difficult to
deal with our work colleagues. We will
give you practical strategies on how
to avoid and deal with conflict within
the aviation environment.
MAINTENANCE
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
We
examine the human factors causes of
maintenance error, how they occur, and
the safety nets that can be used by
maintenance technicians to prevent these
types of errors. Maintenance case
studies facilitate delegates to develop
the personal skills and attitudes required
to prevent maintenance errors from occurring
in their own work environment.
